This game is amazing.
Many people claim it as the "best JRPG of this console generation." Developed by Monolith Soft (Of Xenogears and Xenosaga fame), Xenoblade Chronicles tells the story of a world that takes place on the corpses of two giant titans, the Bionis and the Mechonis, that fought to the death long ago. Eons later, a race of people of the Bionis, the Homs, are at war with mechanical beings from Mechonis called the Mechons. The only way the Mechon can be damaged is through the use of the Monado, a legendary sword said to have been used by the Bionis itself.
The game features an open world environment where you complete quests. This game is really streamlined. Basic quests (fetch quests, kill X number of creatures) are automatically completed upon finishing the objective without needing to backtrack to an NPC. The game also features a fast travel system where you can automatically travel to any area you've been to previously. The game also has a day-night cycle complete with NPCs that have their own schedules. However, Xenoblade has a clock change menu so you can change the time any time you want to so you do not have to wait around for NPCs to become available to interact with.
This game is massive. I am at the end of the game. I've clocked in 95 and a half hours. I still have plenty of things to do. I easily see this game taking me about 20 more hours before I complete everything of significance.
